Purling for dear life

After two weeks of 60-70 degree weather, it is snowing again. As I type, fast and furious flakes are flying by my window at breakneck speed and I can only barely make out the foothills that typically dominate the view from my loft.

Surprisingly enough, I'm feeling much happier today.

There must be something wrong with me. The 70 degree weather had me all depressed and grumpy. Snow is making me happy. Seriously.

Snow is also making me want to knit. I finished the teal Sizzle and decided I needed another one in pink cotton. Because who honestly needs a wool tank top?

I'm also working on a plain navy hoodie based on the central park. It's with stash yarn (yay) and it's coming along swimmingly. The back and left front are done, the right front is about halfway done. Pictures soon!

Cat woman

Hmm. So not much with the knitting.

I've been trying - really, I have! - but my sister went and got a kitten and then flew off to Scotland to visit with her in-laws, so guess who is watching the cat?

Let me start by stating that they named this kitten Bellatrix, after the Harry Potter character. It is VERY appropriate.

So...yeah. Did you know that knitting is not so easy with a cat around? In fact, knitting is not so happening *at all* with a cat around. My dogs - they don't really care so much about the knitting thing so long as they can curl up somewhere nearby. Bellatrix? She took a flying leap from the top of the kitchen island, ricocheted off my head, and then pounced on the ball of yarn as though it was... well, I don't know what. Harry Potter or something. She's totally nuts.

So yeah, not much with the knitting.

But I've been doing other stuff. With the one true passion thing. Which is not, incidentally, anything obscene. Or at least, *I'm* not obscene about it, although I suppose some could be and are. If you click the link, be prepared with the volume-making, and potentially some earplugs.

Weep with me folks...

...for I have done very little knitting over the last two weeks. I have another project - my one true passion (no, it's not knitting) - and it has been eating up my time. So alas, I have not knit.

But I will. I promise.

Here instead is a gratuitous picture of my rather grouchy dog. :D
