And I am KNITTING!!!
Lookit lookit lookit!
I am finishing up the arm today and hopefully will have it seamed in by tomorrow! And then to do the neck and TA-DAAAAA! I have a sweater!!!
I have also been working on the Central Park Hoodie - the back is done and I've started working on the front... left... I think. One of the front panels. Here is the back in all it's purple glory...
It's amazing how quickly these two projects are coming together. And I'm really enjoying the feeling of actually finishing something for myself. I can't wait to wear the raglan!
That's about it. It's snowing again. I absolutely love it, but everyone else seems to be really grouchy. I keep forgetting that most people here are used to snow that falls and then melts a day or two later. We've had snow here for the last 6 weeks! I suppose to the Coloradoan that's enough - but you get us Alaskan transplants down here and we're ecstatic just to have the sun! Ahh, it's the simple things, I suppose.
I'm off to play in the snow. And laugh at my grouchy neighbors. :D

chilly q-tips
Alas, no knitting to post.
Why? Because I am sick. Again, you say? Yes, again. Thanks to yet another handy rotavirus, I've not eaten in four days. FOUR DAYS, y'all. Nothing but water and chicken broth. That is one pissed off stomach. Today I managed saltines (ah, saltines, breakfast of champions) with my broth and I am feeling infinitely better. Food is HIGHLY underrated. Food makes you happy. Food keeps you warm too. Really! Especially with temps in the single digits and below lately - I've been reduced to lurking over heater vents with my blanky to keep me warm.
And you know what else?
I look like a q-tip. Really. I lost weight with my first round of flu, and then I got a cold and now I have this flu and lost even more weight. And of course, when you're sick what do you do with your hair? NUH-THING. Ergo, my curly hair sticks up all over the place, and... voila. Q-tip.
My new years resolutions have all been replaced by a single, beautiful resolution:
Get well so that I can knit again.

The Holidays
It's snowing again. Four weeks in a row. Although, today it's apparently freezing fog, which the weather forecasters keep referring to as "frog". Wasn't that considered a plague at one point in history?
The holidays were a whirlwind - more so than usual, since I have been sick for most of them - but overall very nice. I must've been a very good girl this year.... I got yarn and books and many great knitting sundries. The knitted gifts went over well, both mother and sister were happy, and even Nana was impressed - the knitting matriarch of my family. Warm fuzzies all around!
A few additions to my stash:
The donegal tweed - I've earmarked this for the Central Park Hoodie... such a fabulous purple color. :D
Baby silk and highland silk from Elann...
...which will eventually become sizzle (the blue-green) and orangina.
And to prove that I am not the only crazy one in my family, I present Nana in her Mrs. Santa outfit...
